The band was never able to the group to be an overnight success in the United States, however they did gain a lot of traction in other countries, particularly Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 group breakup. Ford began to take vocal lessons. The first album she released on her own was 'Dancing on the Edge'. Ford could not do any success with either album and then she decided to leave the rock scene for about an entire decade. Ford returned to the scene in the form of her smash hit album 'Lita', that was released in 1988. It was a big success for the single "Kiss Me Deadly," along with the ballad , 'Close My Eyes forever. The success of her music was not lasting since she went under the radar for many years. In 1995, she released her debut album "Black," followed by 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Time Capsule' was released. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
